Forecasts are commonly used by companies to budget for future revenue. CQWorx bases its forecasts on components, assemblies and services. If you are an organization that for example sells computers, you will probably have sales targets, which could for example say that you intend selling x number of computers in the next 6 months.

A forecast in CQWorx always has a start and end date, for example today and six months from today. A forecast will also contain a list of the components, assemblies and services that you intend selling during that time period. You add these by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the forecast editing window. Each forecast item will have a quantity - for example, you can enter "1000" if you envisage selling 1000 computers during the forecast time period.

Forecasts are used in reporting, for example to generate an actual vs forecast report, which compares the actual sales of components, assemblies and services with the budgeted quantities.
